Conditions on the fields at Darden Towe Park, which had been closed by Albemarle County due to heavy rainfall, have improved considerably throughout the morning. Additionally, the storms which moved through the area this morning have moved well to the east of Charlottesville. Therefore, this morning’s Seminole Players League games will be held as scheduled.
Original Post: 8:30 am
The Seminole Lacrosse League has been carefully monitoring this morning’s weather situation. A large thunderstorm passed through Charlottesville and Albemarle County, delivering very heavy rainfall to the area of Darden Towe Park. Field conditions are expected to be poor for most of the morning until the precipitation has had a chance to drain away.
Therefore, based on expected field conditions and the continuing threat of thunderstorms throughout the morning, this morning’s Seminole League games are canceled for all age groups EXCEPT the Player’s League. Field and weather conditions will be reevaluated and a decision made on the Player’s League game by approximately 11:00am.
