ACAC Sports announces that they will join Bob Mattie and CAYLC in the management of the Nolan Jenkins Memorial Lacrosse Tournament. This year marks the 3rd annual tournament that brings our local middle school teams together with teams from out of town for a weekend of early season lacrosse.

The games will be held the weekend of March 13-15.

The games are held at 5 locations: The Park, Carr’s Hill Field, and the U-Hall Turf Fields at the University of Virginia, St. Anne’s Belfield School, and Albemarle High School.

The Tournament plans to have 30 teams playing games during 4 different time blocks: Friday, 6:00 – 9:00pm, Saturday, 8:00am – 1:00pm & 3:30pm – 8:00PM, and Sunday 8:00am – 1:00pm.

Saturday afternoon’s break in the action will allow players, coaches, and fans attend the game between the #1 ranked University of Virginia men’s lacrosse team and Towson. That game will be played at Klockner Stadium at 1:00pm.

Volunteers Neeeded

Running a tournament like the Nolan Jenkins Tournament takes a lot of organization and volunteers. ACAC Sports and the Tournament Team is asking the Charlottesville Lacrosse Community to step up and help out during the Tournament weekend. Volunteers are key to making this tournament a success.

Volunteer duties include t-shirt sales, selling advertising for the program, concessions, delivering team packets, and the very important role of Field Marshall. Any role that you can provide would be appreciated.

ACAC Sports and the Tournament Team will be holding a VOLUNTEER Meeting Saturday morning, Feb 28, 11:00AM, at the UVa Sports Promotions office in the South end of Scott Stadium. The office is down the hall to the right of the UVa ticket sales. If you cannot make the meeting but would like to volunteer, please contact Al Sadtler (434.242.6583. als@acac.com) to let him know of your availability.
