After a sluggish first quarter and a half, Team USA proceeded to dismantle a strong Australian team on July 14, 2006, at TD Waterhouse Stadium. The final score was 20-8. Former Virginia player Jay Jalbert scored two goals, while brothers Casey, Michael, and Ryan Powell combined for a total of 17 points (9G – 8A). The US tallied a total of 44 shots on goal; Australians Warren Brown and Scott Garnsworthy managed 24 saves between them.
