Boys Middle School Marks Major Expansion in 2007
Via Bob Mattie
The Boys Middle School Lacrosse League has announced that it will be expanding in 2007, offering two divisions for boys: a 7th & 8th grade division as well as a division for 5th & 6th graders. The rationale behind the change is to eliminate the size disparity that has kept younger players from participating and provide more playing time for younger players.
The YMCA will be offering a 2nd through 4th grade league.
In addition, lacrosse organizations from outside the Charlottesville area have been invited to join the league. Currently, groups from Roanoke and Culpeper have made firm commitments for the 2007 season, with decisions pending from Lynchburg, Salem, Fluvanna, Staunton and Harrisonburg.
By adding teams from other Virginia areas, the League hopes to provide a better experience for players and to contribute to the improvement of youth lacrosse throughout Central and Western Virginia.
