Two new sponsors have joind the fray for the 2006 Albemarle Lacrosse Jamboree: SuperstarsPizza, who will be pitching in some great food for Jamboree Officials and Volunteers, and Davenport & Company LLC, the largest independent stock brokerage firm headquartered in Virginia.

The Jamboree thanks Superstar Pizza and Davenport, along with Laxgear.net and Bones Lacrosse for their support and sponsorship.

The University of Virginia will be hosting both the Men and Women’s Syracuse lacrosse teams on Saturday, March 4th (Women start at 12:00 and Men at 3:00). UVa has also selected this double-header as USLacrosse Day - meaning that all US Lacrosse members can purchase a ticket for $3 by presenting their membership card.

In addition to the games, there will be an interactive zone setup by deBeer/Gait Lacrosse - including stations to try out sticks and gloves (scheduled to be open before the women’s game and also between the 2 games). There are also plans for inflateables, giveaways, and a post-game autograph session to serve as additional entertainment.

As the weekend of March 24th approaches, the 2006 Albemarle Lacrosse Jamboree continues to take shape. Patriot Lacrosse joins the Jamboree, the Sunday schedule is set, and a new sponsor - Bones Lacrosse - joins the fun.

Also, Justlacrosse.com, a web site “covering lacrosse from a centeral New York perspective”, is following the early season trip of Baldwinsville, NY to Charlottesville.

The Charlottesville Chapter of USLacrosse has announced that the Dogwood Invitational Lacrosse Tournament will not be held in 2006.

The weekend of March 24th 2006 will mark the 5th annual Albemarle Jamboree. We are excited to be hosting three days of the best high school lacrosse in the state of Virginia. This year will bring together the highest level of competition in our short history. Three teams who are ranked in the top 20 in the country, including the number one team in the country will be spending the weekend playing teams from 7 states including Virginia. Western Albemarle this year will help Albemerle High School host the Friday and Saturday part of the event.

The weekend will spotlight interstate scrimmages. Friday and Sunday will showcase teams in a full scrimmage format, with Saturday being played in a jamboree format. On Saturday all high school teams will travel over to UVA to watch the UVA vs John Hopkins game.
