According to CAYLC sources, tonight’s (Friday night’s) games will be played as scheduled.

cville-lax has learned that there will be significant changes to the weekend’s schedule due to field conditions at several venure. The fields at Albemarle and Monticello High Schools are unplayable, but there will be two additional UVa fields in use, which, combined with some format changes, will pick up some of the slack.

Saturday games will be held at the following locations:

* UVa Carr’s Hill Field: 12 games beginning @ 7:50am
* UVA Onestry Hall Field 2 (Lower Turf field): 7 games, beginning @ 8:00am
* UVA Onestry Hall Field 1 (Field Hockey field): 7 games, beginning @ 5:00pm
* St. Anne’s-Belfield Upper School: 8 games, beginning @ 11:00 am
* St. Anne’s-Belfield Lower School Turf Field: 8 games, beginning @ 4:20 pm
* St. Anne’s-Belfield Lower School JV Field: 4 games, beginning @ 4:20 pm

The fields at Albemarle and Monticello High Schools, as well as UVa’s Lambeth field, are unplayable.

Sunday games will be held at the following locations:

* UVa Carr’s Hill Field: 10 games beginning @ 8:00am
* UVA Onestry Hall Field 2 (Lower Turf field): 10 games, beginning @ 8:00am
* St. Anne’s-Belfield Upper School: 9 games, beginning @ 8:00 am
* St. Anne’s-Belfield Lower School Turf Field: 9 games, beginning @ 8:00am
* St. Anne’s-Belfield Lower School JV Field: 9 games, beginning @ 8:00 am

According to LaxMania Director Bob Mattie:

1) Allow me to preface these rules by saying I know they are tight and don’t allow for stoppages. Due to the weather we have been forced to resort to this type of a game in order to ensure that all teams will get the most games and the most field time we can provide. We appreciate your understanding and hope that you have a wonderful weekend.

Some of the significant rule changes include:

* All games will now be 30 minute running time. This will allow the most number of games given our limited field availability.
* No time outs during the game, again this will allow us to maintain our revised schedule.
* All substitutions will be on the fly.
