In an exhibition game before an overflow crowd of 3,500 at Syracuse University’s Coyne Field, Team USA defeated the Syracuse All-Stars 15-6 on July 3rd. Eight of the US team’s players scored, led by Roy Colsey and Kevin Cassese with three goals each. Brothers Casey and Ryan Powell made three assists each. Goalies Chris Garrity (six saves) and Trevor Tierney (eight saves) split halves.

Former UVa midfielder Jay Jalbert marked his return to play; a concussion forced him out of National Lacrosse League championship game on May 14. Jalbert notched an assist in the game’s second quarter, feeding Roy Colsey with 3:54 left before the half.

Team USA previously wiped out Ireland 27-2 in an exhibition match on June 25th. They return to play against the Major League Lacrosse All-Stars in Boston at Boston University’s Nickerson Field on July 6th. The game will be televised on ESPN-2, via tape-delay. Team USA opens against Australia in the World Lacrosse Championships in London, Ontario on July 14.
