The Virginia Independent Schools (VIS) is bringing the 2008 Championship Lacrosse Weekend to Charlottesville, May 16 and 17, 2008. This will be a great opportunity for the Charlottesville community to see some very good high school lacrosse, with teams from VIS Division I, Division II, and Division III. The Championship Weekend will be held at the St. Anne’s Belfield Lower School Campus.

Division I semifinal games will be played on the St. Anne’s Belfield Turf Field on Friday, May 16th. The first semifinal will begin at 5:30pm, with the second game slated to begin at 7:30pm. Division II and Division III semifinal games will be played at the higher-seeded team’s home site. (Seeding are TBD and will be announced on cville-lax.com.)

Championship games for all divisions will be played on the St. Anne’s Belfield Turf Field, as well. The Division III Championship game faceoff is scheduled for 12 Noon, followed by the Division II Championship match at 2:30pm. The Championship Weekend will conclude at 5:00pm with the Division I final.

In addition to five highly-competitive games, the STAB soccer field will be transformed into the Championship Weekend Fan Fest, with food and pre-game activities hosted by sponsor Sportspage. Fans are encouraged to bring their sticks to the Fan Fest, where fans will get a chance to showcase their skills in shooting accuracy, speed of shot, and other activities during half time of the games. Concession stands provided by SportsPage and St. Anne’s-Belfield School Boosters.
