ACAC Raises Bar with New Summer Lacrosse Academies
ACAC has announced the dates for their Summer Lacrosse Academies, including, in a first for Charlottesville, an overnight Lacrosse Academy. All camp days include sport instruction, indoor/outdoor play, speed and agility training, and an hour of swim time at the Adventure Central Waterpark.
The Girls Lacrosse Academy will run in two sessions, June 9-12, and July 14-17, from 8:30am to 4:30pm. This Academy is for girls aged 9-14.
The Boys Lacrosse Academy will run July 7-10, with a second session July 21-24. This Academy is for boys aged 9-14. There will be an option for a 3 day – 4 night overnight camp; campers will participate in the day camp, then spend the evening swimming at the Adventure Central Waterpark, playing indoor lacrosse in the Arena, and then spend the night in “The Big Room”. Camp tuition for overnight campers includes all meals.
There will also be Half-Day Boys Lacrosse Academy, for boys aged 8-12. This Academy will be held August 4-7 and August 11-14, from 8:45am – 1:00pm.
The ACAC Boys Lacrosse Academy is directed by Al Sadtler, founder and director of the Seminole Lacrosse League, and 2001 Inductee into the Virginia Lacrosse Hall of Fame. The coaches of the academy are Hunter Price, Jim Loffredo and Richard Little. The coaches will provide a high level of instruction and skill development for all positions, video analysis and plenty of indoor and outdoor game time.
The ACAC Girls Lacrosse Academy is directed by Al Sadtler and coached by both Jennifer Harris,of the Blue Ridge Lacrosse Club, and Nancy Haws, Head WAHS Varsity Coach. This Academy provides a high level of instruction and skill development for all positions, video analysis and plenty of indoor and outdoor game time.
