The Charlottesville Herd begins its inaugural season this spring. After a good showing at Laxtoberfest in Annapolis last fall, Jim Loffredo has brought together a stellar group that has the potential to be a force in this region for years to come.

This season will include games against college teams and club teams from around the area. After this season The Herd will join the American Lacrosse League.

The Herdâ??s roster includes college All-Americans, current MLL players, and a mix of former D1 and D3 talent. The Herd will be a strong challenge for anyone they face. As a test, JP Williamson is securing a game with The Capitol Lacrosse Club, a perennial east coast power house.

The Herd is sponsored by McGradyâ??s Pub (http://www.mcgradysirishpub.com/), Panorama Pay Dirt (http://www.panoramapaydirt.com/), and Octagon Partners. The team thanks them for supporting this local effort.

Practices will start in the middle of February with games starting March 3rd. Whether you come out to see some great lacrosse or just meet The Herd at McGradyâ??s for a beverage in the 5th quarter, the Herd will be an entertaining time.
