On November 19th, Charlottesville sent two teams to the Fairfax Fall Brawl, held at Sydney Lanier Middle School and Providence Elementary School in Fairfax. The U15 division had 14 teams, with 12 teams from Virginia, 1 from Maryland, and 1 from Pennsylvania. The U11 division had 6 teams, with 3 teams from Virginia, 2 from Maryland, and 1 from New York.

The U15 team went 3-3 beating every Virginia team that they faced, except a hard-fought two goal loss to Great Falls. Their other losses were to a BelAir, Maryland team (that had 72 kids try out to make it) and a superb team from Conestoga, Pennsylvania. The team was coached by Greg Crow.

The “first ever” U11 team from Charlottesville also had a respectable showing. Though they did not win, they lost 3 of their 4 games by a TOTAL of 4 goals, so they were extremely competitive in each of those 3. In their first game, they lost to a team from Long Island 11-4, but they were even ahead in that game when both sets of starters were in–not bad for a team that has basically 1 year of experience. The team was coached by Brad Haws, Michael
Cross, Austin English and Tom Wharton.
