Despite yesterday’s heavy rains, the fields at Darden Towe Park are in very good condition. Therefore, this afternoon’s Charlottesville Summer Lacrosse League games will be held as scheduled.

Wednesdays - Weather Make-up Days

The opening day game between Navy and Maroon was halted at the beginning of the second quarter due to lightning in the vicinity of Darden Towe Park.

The game will be continued at 6:30pm, Wednesday, June 25th. The game clock will be reset to the beginning of the second quarter, with the score remaining at: Maroon - 4, Navy - 1. The game venue is Darden Towe Park field #1.

The deadline for registration for the 2008 edition of the Charlottesville Summer Lacrosse League was Tuesday, however, an extremely limited number of slots remain open. If you wish to be assigned a team, please send an email to: webmaster@cville-lax.com with your name, age, position, and cell phone/contact number by 7:00am Sunday morning and come to Darden Towe Park at 11:30am Sunday.

Preliminary team rosters are listed below. Play begins on Sunday, June 22th. Opening day games will be played at noon and 1:30pm. No player will be issued a jersey or allowed to play without payment of the $75 registration fee. The league will once again feature upgraded, reversible game jerseys; players will be expected to wear the new jerseys (rather than jerseys from previous years) on the field.

Note that due to traffic on Pantops Mountain, midweek games will have a start time of 6:30pm, which is one half hour later than in previous years. Some games in 2008 may be played at the Turf Field @ St. Anne’s-Belfield.

12:00 noon: Red v. Black (Field 1)
1:30 pm: Navy v. Maroon (Field 1)

Tuesday, June 24
6:30 pm: Royal Blue v. Red (Field 1)

Thursday, June 26
6:30 pm: Navy v. Black (Field 1)
6:30 pm: Royal Blue v. Maroon (Field 2)

Players: In order to efficiently start opening day games on time, please show up at Darden Towe Park 15 minutes before your scheduled game time!

The League is open to all men 15 and older; the cost of the league is $75. All players must be members of USLacrosse. Applications must be received by the league by June 17th.

The Charlottesville Summer Lacrosse League is open to all men 15 and older; the cost of the league is $75. All players must be members of USLacrosse. Applications will be available shortly, and must be received by the league by June 17th.
