Virginia Men
The big question: Can the University of Virginia complete the “Face-Off Classic Trifecta”? Virginia got past Syracuse 11-8 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, as the Cavalier defense redeemed themselves after their surprise loss to Drexel. A week later, the Cavaliers squeeked past another Face-Off Classic participant, Princeton, in a 7-6 nail-biter at Klockner, settled by Ben Rubeor with just 25.4 seconds on the clock.
#2/5 Virginia returns to Baltimore on Saturday to play #3 Johns Hopkins at Homewood Field at 1:00pm. (Hopkins beat Princeton in the nationally-televised double-OT thriller that was the lead-off game in the Face-Off Classic.) For fans not able to make the trip, the game will be broadcast by both WINA radio (AM 1070 – live) and ESPN-U.
Virginia Women
The #3 Virginia Women (6-1) take on #10 Princeton (3-2) at 1:00pm at Klockner Stadium on Saturday. The Cavaliers have declared it “Girl Scout Day” and invite all Girl Scouts to the match to enjoy some great lacrosse. It is also Dollar Concession Day at Klockner. A hot dog, popcorn, and a small soda can each be purchased for $1 at the concession stand.
