The 2011 edition of the Indoor Winter laXgames, Central Virginia�??s premier indoor lacrosse tournament, will be held Saturday, January 31st and Sunday, February 1st, at ACAC�??s Adventure Central in Four Seasons. The tournament will feature boys and girls teams from around the area, including Albemarle, Western Albemarle, Covenant, Christchurch, St. Anne�??s – Belfield, Charlottesville, and ACAC.

The Indoor Winter laXgames are sponsored by ACAC Sports, cville-lax.com (Championship Cup and Plate), Scrimmage Play (All Tournament Team), and ACAC Physical Therapy (ACAC trainers).

The boys tournament will kick off at 11:00am on Saturday, and feature 12 round-robin games in two divisions. The top two finishing teams in each division will return to play in semifinal games at 6:00pm, with the Championship game at 7:30. The winners will be presented with the �??cville-lax Cup�?� for display at their home school over the next year.

The girls tournament will be held Sunday, with a start time to be determined. The winners of the girls tournament will be presented with the silver �??cville-lax Plate�?�.

Game notes: Western�??s loss was the only time this season they were defeated by another public school. Robinson plays the 15-5 Westfield Bulldogs for the State AA/AAA Championship on Saturday, June 2.

In their first state playoff meeting ever, the 14-6 Albemarle Patriots will travel to Crozet to take on the 12-4 Western Albemarle Warriors. Game time is 7:00pm. The game will see a clash between Commonwealth District Player of the Year Stephen Murray and Jefferson District
Player of the Year Max Pfiefer.

The Albemarle boy’s team is ranked #18 in the LaxPower computer rankings and Western is currently at #21. The teams last met April 20th at Albemarle; the Warriors walked away with an 8-7 win. Western has won its last three games.

In other tournament quarterfinal play:

• Westfield hosts Salem
• Robinson hosts Culpepper
